I have lived and vacationed in a number of countries with the Lonely Planet guides, and always found them extremely helpful. With this new guide, “Lonely Planet’s Best In Travel 2009: 850 Trends, Destinations, Journeys & Experiences For The Year Ahead” Hudson Reed Towel Warmer found it to be very enjoyable for different reasons.

I always liked how the Lonely Planet guides had a ton of information about the places I was living or visiting. However, I sometimes wished they had more color photos such as some of the other travel guides available. With this “Best In Travel 2009″ guide, there isn’t the depth for each country like the country specific guides, but rather interesting places around the entire world. And this book is full of colorful pictures.

It is a beautifully laid out book with scores of magnificent photographs. Combine the photos with the brief descriptions of places around the entire globe and you have a great coffee table book and a text that will inspire you to plan your next travel adventure. What I enjoy most about this book is it helps generate ideas of places to go and things I want to do.

The book is chalk full of lists. Top 10 Countries, Top 10 Regions, Top 10 Cities and so on. I don’t know if I agree with the top 10 in each of these categories, and you might not either, but that does not matter. Use the book to inspire you to travel to new places and to generate ideas and possibilities. Even if you don’t travel to the places listed, you will be more aware of what’s out there and places that are available to explore. If you enjoy traveling, you’ll enjoy looking through this book for ideas.

That Mid Season Bowling Slump

Some Tips to help ease the pain of a mid season slump in bowling

We have all been there, It is no fun as anyone can tell you. So I decided to write this articles to help you build back your confidence in your bowling game or any sport really. But, this mainly pertains to bowling.

Here are a few rules to follow when in a bowling slump.

Rule #1. Don’t let one bad night turn into 5 or 10 bad nights. It is very easy to let this happen and easier said then done. So try not to over think the situation.

Rule #2. Don’t make to big of moves. An inch is better than a mile in a bowling slump. Small moves are better than big moves or less is more.

Rule #3. Get back to the basic’s. One thing that has helped me the most is forget about striking every frame just be happy with a clean game. Usually when I do this my slump is soon gone .

Rule #4. Get some new equipment. I know it sounds like the easy way out but in today’s game the newer the bowling ball the better the scores, now not always is it a new ball it could be a new pair of shoes, new inserts in you old ball, even a new grip. One year I was in a terrible sump and I got a new ball and raised my average 15 pins from half way through the season.

Rule #5. Stop watching everyone else. Easier said than done, but dose work if you start just playing your own game.

Rule #6. One ball at a time, This speaks for itself, stop looking at the outcome and look at it frame by frame.

Rule #7. Don’t get to many opinions, some advice is good to much is bad and can really mess you up.

Here was just a few rules to help you out. It is all about confidence anyway. These rules have helped me in the past and present, I hope that they help you as well.

Good Luck and Good Bowling.

Reality star Goody returns home

Terminally ill reality TV star Jade Goody is said to be “thrilled” to be home to be with her family after leaving hospital in London.

The Horseshoe Hammond riverboat casino on Lake Michigan was the second stop in the 2009 World Series of Poker Circuit Tournament series. Recently renovated, it now features the largest poker room in the Midwest with 34 tables and 2 poker machine tables. There were 13 events in all with a total of 4204 players competing for a piece of the prize pool that collectively totaled $2,564,097. Also, there were a number of outstanding performances, with one being the winner of Event #4 No Limit Hold’Em Ladies Only who was Linda Tucker. By winning that event, she received a $10,000 seat to the Main Event in Las Vegas.

Another hot event was number 11, the Circuit Championship Event at Horseshoe Hammond. The winner received a $10,000 seat to the 2009 WSOP Main Event at the RIO in Las Vegas, a beautiful gold and diamond ring along with $208,885 in prize money. On Day 1, at total of 164 players paid the entry fee of $5,150, which helped to create a cash pool of $820,250. Some of the talent in the field included Young Phan, Alan Cutler, Dean Hambrick who finished 10th at the WSOP Main Event, Brett Richey, Steve Billirakis, Dean Schultz and Kevin Saul. Even former NBA player Ken Norman was seen at the tables. Action began a little after 1:00 PM with all players having 20,000 in chips. A big hand came during play for Brett Richey where he ended up on the bigger full house (7’s/2’s) than his eliminated opponent (2’s/4’s), which allowed him to triple his stack in the first two hours of play. Kevin Saul who rode a roller coaster on Day 1, went to the down side and busted out when his all-in move with A J lost to the pocket K’s of another player. But Steve Billirakis ended up the chip leader when he won a huge pot with a pair of 10’s, giving him 295,600 chips to move on to the next round.

Day 2 started at 3:00 PM with the 40 remaining players battling it out to see who would make the final table. NBA player Ken Norman finished 14th after his full house (J’s/Q’s) was edged out by another player making a better full (J’s/K’s), sending Norman to the rail. And in another crazy hand, Ravi Raghavan won a huge pile of chips after beating three Queens with three Aces with the final Ace coming on the river. But the title of chip leader went to Steve “Mr. Smokey” Billirakis who busted many a player to make the final table with 754,000 in chips. Looking at the facts, Steve ended Day 1 and Day 2 as the chip leader. A Main Event win would be a true wire-to-wire victory for him. And after 11 hours of play, the nine players for the final table became established.

When the final table began at 4:00 PM, early on Steve Billirakis got an incredible number of pocket pairs ranging from 2’s to back to back pocket A’s. His stack began to increase like the poker gods sprinkled Miracle Gro on it. Others weren’t so lucky. First to go in 9th place was Dustin “Neverwin” Woolf after losing to the King high straight of Thomas Koral. Jason DeWitt walked away in 8th place courtesy of Billirakis who held pocket Queens for the victory. Ravi Raghavan earned the cash for a 7th place finish when his pocket Jacks lost to the paired Aces of Thomas Koral. Sameer Al-Dbhany finished 6th after meeting the top pair of Kyle Schertz (A’s and K’s). George Dietz could not overcome the set of 9’s belonging to Kyle Schertz and ended up 5th. Kyle Schertz ended his quest to become champion in 4th when his hand could not beat the pocket 9’s of Tommy Koral. Gary Leibovitz was stopped in 3rd by the Ace high flush belonging to Steve Billirakis.

Chip counts for both players had Steve Billirakis at 2,085,000 and Tommy Koral at 1,215,000. But in less than 5 hands the heads up was over between them. On the winning hand Tommy raised preflop and Steve moved all-in and Tommy called, turning over pocket 9’s while Steve showed Ad 8s. The flop and turn cards were all diamonds, giving Steve the victory with an Ace high diamond flush and bestowing upon him the title of champion.

Wedding Speeches - The Father of the Bride

It’s Your Daughters BIG day, the little girl you have loved and looked after for so long is getting married. You have been bestowed the honor of making a Father of The Bride Wedding Speech at your daughters wedding, what do you say? how do you convey just how much your daughter means to you and how happy you are she is getting married?”

Writing your father of the bride speech can be a stressful and exhausting process. You desperately want to make sure this pivotal part of the wedding ceremony goes off without a hitch. You want to make your daughter proud and do her and your family justice by giving a great father of the bride speech that will leave your daughter with a memory she will cherish forever.

The problem with putting a father of the bride wedding speech together is that it is hard, often more so for guys, to convey emotion. Getting the right combination of wit, humor, sincerity and emotion can be the difference between a good speech and a bad one. In particular men can have trouble conveying emotion and when they force it it comes across as wooden or insincere.

You want to convey to everyone just how much you love your daughter and how happy you are to see her settle down with her chosen partner. You also want to infuse just the right amount of humor to keep things from getting to “heavy”, getting people to laugh is possibly the most important part of any ceremony speech.

Writing a speech is not the easiest process, the advice I offer to people is to get a guide made up of professionally written speeches which have been proven time and time again to be successful, which can then be edited and mixed and matched to form the perfect speech for your occasion. In around 30 minutes you could have your speech written, leaving you to relax and focus on other tasks. The guides are extremely cheap and lets face it in comparison to the cost of the wedding day, the price pales into insignificance and will ensure your daughters day is complete.

I have put together a guide for making the perfect father of the bride wedding speech you can find it here The Father of The Bride Speech.

Hoping your day is a successful and memorable one!

Problems With Obama’s Inaugural Address Revealed - Right From the First Paragraph

After carefully studying Celine Handbags Wallets exact words of President Obama’s Inaugural Address, I am deeply troubled. For the record and before I start my comments, I like to say, I did not listen to the speech personally, I have “Obama Fatigue” which is a syndrome one gets when they cannot get away from the barrage of impressions in the media.

Let’s face it you cannot turn on a TV set, Radio or turn the page of a newspaper without seeing or hearing Obama - enough is enough. Now then, listen carefully to the first paragraph of President Obama’s Speech:

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.”

Okay first, he admits he is out of his league and not worthy of the office, although most of us realize this, I fear any man that lacks the confidence to do his job. Let’s hope Obama does not prove the “Peter Principle” correct. In this same first sentence he tells of the trust “we” the people bestowed in him? What, that is nonsense, his PR machine manipulated the masses with the help of the press.

In the second sentence here he states he wants to thank President Bush? Oh, Baloney, that is insincere nonsense and poppycock. Utter hokum if you ask me. Senator Obama spent 21 months trashing the President Bush, so either he is lying now or he was lying during his 21-month run for the White House? So, which time did he lie to us?

Lastly, of course President Bush was generous and cooperative, he loves this nation and always has all his adult life, he wants a smooth transition because that’s what’s best for our nation. What does President Barrack Obama want? Inquiring minds want to know.

Losing Face Beats Losing Lives

Where is my country headed?

I spent a lot of energy in my teens, acting as a member of a huge portion of our population, informing our leadership that they were letting us down. I was too young to be called to Viet Nam, but that did not deter me from protesting.

The end of our involvement in Viet Nam proved something: we can walk away without gnashing teeth over somehow having abandoned a country. News flash: you cannot “abandon” a country that really, *really* wants you gone. It’s no longer abandonment if you depart when you have worn out your welcome. Certainly, there were a lot of people who suffered as a result of our pulling out of Viet Nam. Those people deserved better than they got, and I’m sorry we helped place them at risk. Still, no healing of that country could take place until we were gone.

We have so overstayed our welcome in Iraq that we are now viewed with even more disdain than we ever have been, worldwide. Earned? You bet! At some point, it is no longer about right and wrong. We are imposing over 100,000 arms-bearing visitors on Iraq, and they would rather we figure the right direction to the exit door than insist we know the right direction for their country.

My support of the US troops as individuals in Iraq is unwavering…in fact, it is so unwavering that I seek to have them come home as a higher priority than seeking any particular outcome in Iraq. It is time for Iraq to be returned to rule by its own devices. If they choose to kill each other, it is time for our own troops to be out of the line of fire. If Iraqis choose peace, amen! That’s when the United States can truly help: when Iraq figures out how to stop the insanity within its own borders. Just as in Viet Nam, the healing will not begin until our military forces are gone.

Right now, we are spilling the blood of thousands into the sand. Many times more Iraqis have died than US military members, and thousands more have died because they came to Iraq specifically to kill Americans. They are just as dead, regardless of their horrible motivation. If we seek to spark the growth of democracy in Iraq, we need to recognize that nothing grows from sand wetted with blood.
